Thoughts on the war...
I wish I could say that I understand everything going on in Iraq, but I honestly don't. I feel like everytime I do try to understand the issues and reasons why we are fighting across seas I read such contradicting material that I get even more confused. Obviously, we cannot count on the media to give both sides of any story, but I do think that we should all be more educated on what really is going on. I do feel that we have been fighting way too long and too many lives are being taken. I know that war is in our country's history, but it seems like we should be more civilized by now. I feel quilty when I think about the strangers that fight everyday for my freedom while my life goes on normally. I don't believe that losing innocent lives is the answer to any problem.

Hi Michelle,
I agree with you that here at home we don't really know what is going on in Iraq. Troops like Travis can give us more insight into the truth. I too feel guilty that my life continues to go on normally while others are being killed for my freedom.

The only truth is that we don't know what to believe anymore. Very good point. It is actually to the point anymore that I chose not to listen and watch the news because it is so depressing! I also agree with Mindy, I feel a little guilty that I continue to live my life as I normally would while others are dying for my freedom.

PS- Is that Tyler Hoffman? I am friends with his dad.
Michelle,
You brought up some good points. It is hard to stay informed in a society that often hides truth. I do think that freedom is worth fighting for, BUT, I guess we have to figure out if we can trust our government to give us an accurate reading - is our freedom actually being directly endangered?
