Technnology Grants

I found searching for grants to be frustrating. It was difficult to find a grant that was up-to-date or specific. Also, many grants are limited by the restrictions.

Enhancing Education Through Technology

This is a grant through OSPI that focuses on the integration of technology into classrooms. It also supports peer coaching that allows educators work together as they work collaboratively to create standards-based instruction that integrates technology.

Greece Webquest

I found the following webquest on Greece a few years ago. I really like the way this one is set up. It is very user friendly. Students work in a group to create a children's book based on the research provided in the links. My students really enjoy this too!

January Prompt

Funny Story...

A colleague of mine had a student bring him cookies she made at home. When she gave him the cookies she told him that her sister said they are kind of funny. So, he put the whole cookie in his mouth and without making a face ate the whole thing. He then told her that "yes, maybe you did forget an ingredient." Not thinking anything he went on with his day. Apparently, he devestated the student. She first cried at her desk and then decided to get the rest of the class against the teacher. The teacher pulled the student out of class and told her he didn't mean to upset her and apologized repeatedly. Then the student's dad called the office and told the secretary that he wanted to come and ring the teacher's sissy little neck. When the teacher returned the dad's phone called the dad didn't wanted to hear teacher's side of the story. The following day there was a rumor that the teacher was getting transfered. All of this because he said,"Maybe you did forget an ingredient."

Christmas Memory

As far back as I can remember I have always baked every Christmas with my mom. We usually do the baking a few days before Christmas. We bake cookies, candies, pies, etc. We always do our traditional recipes and always add a couple new recipes each year. We haven't missed a year baking together. I had to have been about 4 or 5 when we started. We now have my nephew help us, he is 3 years old and makes Christmas special again. For awhile we were all older without any small children in the family, but now we have a 3 year old who makes everything fun!
